Current payment calculation is based on a 3.42% interest rate and a standard repayment plan at maximum allowable loan repayment term. Consolidation loan payment is based on a weighted average rate of 3.5% using maximum allowable repayment schedule (25 years for $50,000 example; 30 years for all other examples). Figures do not take into account additional interest rate reductions you may receive under the program or optional alternative repayment plans. Actual interest rates and monthly payments may vary.

The NAD Student Loan Consolidation Program is easy!

  • Reduce your payments by up to 54%. For example, if you have $90,000 in federally guaranteed loans, you will see your payment drop from $887 to $404 per month...a savings of $483 per month -- that’s almost $6,000 per year.
  • Lock in our low fixed rate of just 3.5%* before any of the additional discounts described below.
  • Save an additional .25% when your payments are automatically deducted from your bank account.
  • Act fast for a .625% lower rate**. When you consolidate your loans during the grace period, you get an even lower rate!
  • Get another 1% rate reduction. After you make your first 36 consecutive monthly payments on time, you’ll receive this further rate reduction for as long as you continue this prompt repayment practice.
  • Eliminate the hassle of multiple payments. A single, convenient loan replaces all your current federal loans, saving you valuable time.
  • Preserve any applicable interest subsidies. All such subsidies will be carried over to your new loan.

Applying for this new membership benefit has never been easier...
There’s no need to search through your records, no documents to copy or even any long forms to fill out. Within 48 hours after applying, you’ll be mailed a NAD Consolidation kit, along with a pre-filled application. Just complete, sign and return the forms. Once we receive these documents, the processing of your new loan will begin right away.

And, you can get started however you choose -- by phone, mail, or online.

* The rate for most borrowers will be 3.5%. Your interest rate may vary based on the age and type(s) of the loan(s) to be consolidated.
** Most residents qualify for and obtain deferment during residency and retain the lower “in-school” rate throughout residency and for a six month grace period after the end of residency. The .625% lower rate described applies only to borrowers with certain loan types/ages that are still in grace status at the time of application. Your actual rate and its difference from the standard rate may vary based on the age and type(s) of the loan(s) to be consolidate.
